About the Communications Committee   bylaws

The mission of the Communications Committee is to publicize and support Maine Library Association activities including:

GOALS

• To publicize and support statewide legislative efforts on behalf of all types of libraries.
• To support efforts of the membership committee of the Maine Library Association.
• To cooperate with the Regional Library System's publicity efforts.
• To support other MLA committees and sections with their public relations effort.
• To manage the MLA website.

OBJECTIVES

• To award the MLA Outstanding Librarian Award
• To produce a brochure for the MLA.
• To publicize conferences ahead of time and after the fact outside the library press.
• To inform the District PR committees of generic PR ideas which come to our attention.
• To produce non-copyright generic clip art for publication in MAINE ENTRY on an occasional basis.
• To coordinate individual libraries' TV and radio coverage by encouraging them to notify other members of their efforts through notices in the MAINE MEMO calendar.
